DESCRIPTION -  

The IAFCCP will be presenting a skills lab on Wednesday, October 23rd at 10:00am to 12:00 pm in room C113 at the Georgia World Congress Center. The skills lab will be approximately 90 minutes long, and will accommodate 50 participants. The skills lab will be conducted using qualified instructors and dynamic human patient simulator (HPS) mannequins that mimic real patients and patient conditions. During the course of the skills lab, participants will have the opportunity to practice a variety of critical care skills utilized in high acuity patient transport and will also participate in two staged scenarios in which they must provide care for the HPS patients.

ATTENDEE REQUIREMENTS - 

Only persons who have registered for an AMTC Full Conference Registration are eligible to attend this lab.

No class registration required.

Lab Objectives:

• The skills lab will consist of five individual skill stations, each with its own educational objectives, learning opportunities, and requirements. During the course of the skills lab, participants will be rotated throughout the skills stations on a timed basis. This will allow each participant to experience all the skill stations during the course of the skill lab, although participation in each skill station is not required.
• Four of the skill stations will utilize an HPS, typically the CAE METI-Man HPS, along with needed equipment and training supplies to complete the station’s learning objectives. Each station will have two qualified facilitators to pro-vide instruction and assist participants in completing the learning objectives. When a participant satisfactorily completes the learning objectives at a skills station, the facilitator will provide them with a signed and dated completion form.
